Swimmers from Upton Junior School made a splash at the Kent Swimming Finals at Hartsdown Leisure Centre pool in Margate.

The meeting was a tough test with high performance standards in all categories.

In individual events, the top six swimmers in Kent received medals. The relay events offered the opportunity to reach the South East of England Final and potentially the National Finals for teams finishing in the top two – a feat achieved by the Upton relay medley team.

Upton Deputy head of School Dave Walker praised the efforts of the swimmers.

He said: “There were some very strong performances on show at this event as it featured top swimmers from across Kent – and Team Upton has two county champions.

“Our boys and girls displayed excellent technique, enthusiasm and commitment to take on the best the county has to offer and to do so well.

“They all deserve praise for representing Upton so well, and big thanks goes to Mr Noble for preparing his team so well.”
