Police stopped a car in Margate following a chase on Saturday night (March 2).
Officers on patrol saw the vehicle, which they suspected to be stolen, travelling in Fort Hill at 8.05pm.
The driver allegedly failed to stop when requested to do so and a pursuit took place, ending in Belgrave Road near Dreamland.
A police spokesman said the vehicle was brought to a controlled stop at around 8.10pm and three people were detained on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle.
“Following further enquiries, it was reported the vehicle had been legitimately purchased and the people were allowed to leave,” he said.
“However the alleged driver has been reported for traffic offences.”
