
Two engines were called to the scene of a fire in Margate today (February 28).
Fire crews were called to Addington Street at 8.03am to a flat fire.
Addington Street was blocked while crews worked.
A Kent Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to Addington Street in Margate at 8:03am to reports of a flat fire.
“Two fire engines attended and crews wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire. Firefighters gave oxygen to a man suffering with the effects of smoke inhalation and a woman with a small burn was assessed by SECAmb paramedics. The cause is not yet known.”
