More than 1,600 properties are currently without power in Ramsgate.
The outage, first reported at 8.51am, is spread across areas including Newington, St Lawrence, Pegwell, Ramsgate seafront and Dumpton.
The cause is a fault on electrical equipment/
UK Power Networks engineers are on site and have investigated the cause. Temporary generators are being brought in to provide power.
Power Networks information says: “Our engineers have completed investigations. There’s a lot of work required on site, so we have decided to use temporary generators to provide power.
“To allow time for us to get the generators out to your area and connect them, we’re now estimating we’ll have power back on between 3:30pm and 4:30pm.”
UPDATE: 5.05pm – power restored to all but one property
