Union Yoga to launch teacher training programme and wellness retreat

Union Yoga

Union Yoga in Margate is planning to run an intensive 200 hour teaching course.

The health and fitness studio, at Printworks in Union Row, is headed up by Amie Evans. Last year she teamed up with Yoga teacher David Michael to offer the course which was booked out within two months.

Due to its success the pair will now hold a second course in May. David  has developed the intensive training over many years. Students explore a range of classes, workshops, lectures, and study, covering many  Yoga styles.

Amie said: “It is a comprehensive programme designed both for those wanting to teach, and yoga students who want to develop their own knowledge and practice. The training is fully accredited and registered with Yoga Alliance International.

“Students who are new to yoga, as well as those who are highly experienced can enjoy the benefits. It is not in any way essential that you aspire to become a yoga teacher but it is essential that you have a dedicated and resolute commitment to the course.”

On completion of training participants will be fully qualified and certified as a Yoga Alliance Teacher.

Union is also offering new starters a month of unlimited Yoga and Pilates for £30. The studio has a variety of some 25 different classes per week led experienced teachers.

Amie has also teamed up with Thanet businesses to hold a day long wellness retreat. There will be an uplifting yoga class to start the day, then a healthy lunch followed by guided meditation and sound bath.

Tea’s and homemade treats will be available throughout the day. The event will be held on March 23 and costs £25 per person.

The studio raised £250 for Thanet Winter shelter last month at its weekly donation community class.
