A road in Margate was cordoned off yesterday morning (January 1) following a report of a teenager with a head injury.
Officers were called to Sanger Close at Mere Gate (Tivoli) at 6.44am.
A police spokesperson said: “Kent Police was called at 6.44am on Tuesday 1 January to reports of a teenager who had suffered a head injury in Sanger Close, Margate.
“Officers attended the scene and the teenager was taken to a London hospital for treatment. Enquiries remain ongoing.”
It is not yet clear how the teen suffered the injury although accidental cause, including a fall in the road, has not been ruled out.
Police say an earlier call to Mere Gate to a reported fight is not being linked to the Sanger Close incident.
A spokesman added: “Kent Police was called at 6.41am on Tuesday 1 January to reports of a fight in Mere Gate, Margate.
“Officers were dispatched but those involved left the scene. Enquiries are ongoing.”
How are these two incidents not linked? They both happened at the same time in the same area.
Police say they do not believe they are linked
