An elderly couple and their teenage granddaughter have been assisted by Red Cross volunteers following a fire in Ramsgate.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to the kitchen fire in a second floor flat in St Mildred’s Road at 4.20pm today (January 1)
The couple and the girl had safely evacuated the home and there were no reported injuries. Using breathing apparatus, crews entered the property and extinguished the fire. The cause isn’t known at this stage.
The Red Cross volunteers assisted the family with welfare and emotional support.
