Wanderers congratulate U16 players

Wanderers U16s

Congratulations to these young players and their coaches on their progress in the sport.

Harrison Leach who plays principally at scrum half and has captained the side for the past year. He has been part of the Kent set-up for the past four seasons.

Rafe Walters is a winger or outside centre who has averaged a try a match since converting from soccer in mid 2018. He is new to the Kent set-up this season and will be hoping to make an early impression.

Billy McHattie is the U16s Number 8. His powerful ball carrying and tackling has earned him a place in the Kent set-up after a successful trial this autumn.

Jack Cohen plays principally at outside-half but is comfortable playing anywhere in the backs. He has fought back from injury into Kent Rugby and has recently been accepted into the Saracens Academy.

James Crompton is happy playing anywhere in the back five. He has made rapid strides since converting from soccer in 2015 and has been a regular in the Kent squad in recent seasons.

Giotto McCourt-Webb (shown in inset picture) is a speedy strong running prop. Giotto has been with Kent for four years and joined the Saracens set-up in early 2017.

Thanet Wanderers Under 16s have large squad of just short of 40 players and regularly field two sides. They were Kent Cup quarter finalists, Kent Bowl finalists and Kent 7s finalists in 2017/2018 and have made a good start this season.

They are led by head coach, Ian Lodge assisted by Glenn Leach, Scott Tift, Ron Beck, Martin Gilham and Lee Halliday who are backed by a supportive group of parents.

The next scheduled fixture is at home against Aylesford on Sunday, January 6, kick off 11am.
