East Kent Mencap members to display wildlife photography

Wildlife photography from East Kent Mencap

King Street Studio and Gallery in Margate will house a stunning photography exhibit this month. The exhibition features images taken at Wildwood and Sandwich Bay Bird Observatory by East Kent Mencap’s photography group.

The group are all adults with a learning disability who take pride in producing high quality photographs from around East Kent. Sandwich Bay Bird Observatory is a popular hotspot amongst the group as they are able to capture a variety of species alongside the encouragement of the friendly volunteers from the trust. The Nicky and Eileen Barber Charitable Trust have kindly supported the project, enabling them to showcase some of their best work.

The exhibition will run from October 9-21 and is open Monday to Friday from 9:30am until 4pm each day. Entry is free and many of the prints are for sale.

There will be an open day on Tuesday, October 16 from 10:30am until 2:30pm, when visitors can meet the photographers and enjoy some light refreshments.
