Inquest to open into tragic Margate beach death of six-year-old girl

An inquest into the death of a six-year-old girl who lost her life during a family trip to Margate beach will be opened next week.

Six-year-old Dajahnel Young was discovered lifeless on sand by Margate harbour on July 28.

Kent Police and ambulance crews were called to the harbour after concerns when the girl was spotted in the sea.

CPR was performed by paramedics and Dajahnel, from Erith,was taken to QEQM Hospital in a serious condition. Sadly she later died.

The inquest hearing will open at The Archbishop’s Palace in Maidstone on September 26.
