Police have issued an efit of a man they want to speak to

Police are investigating a report of an attempted robbery in Ramsgate where a group of men assaulted another man at a town cashpoint.

Officers have issued a computer-generated image of a man they would like to speak to about the incident.

It was reported that the victim, a man in his 20s, withdrew some money from the cashpoint in Queen Street at around 10.05pm on July 27, when he was approached by a group of men, who demanded he give them the money.

The victim tried to run away but was tripped up and fell to the floor where he was assaulted. Friends of the victim arrived at the scene and intervened, causing the suspects to leave empty-handed.

The victim suffered cuts and bruising during the incident.
