Police hunt for trio after homeless man robbed of belongings in Ramsgate

Kent Police is appealing for witnesses after a homeless man reported being robbed by three men in Ramsgate.

The robbery is reported to have taken place in Royal Esplanade between 4am and 4.30am yesterday (September 3).

The Three offenders woke the victim, who is in his 40s, while he slept in his tent and demanded he hand over the tent, his sleeping bag and a quantity of cash.

All three offenders are described as white. One was 5ft 11ins tall with short black hair and a trimmed black beard. He was wearing a blue jacket, blue jeans and black Nike trainers and had a scar under his right eye. He had a local accent.

The second was 5ft 9ins tall, of a slim build and was unshaven with fair hair. He was wearing a yellow checked shirt and white trainers.

The third man was 5ft 11ins tall and was wearing a green Nike jacket, grey jeans and white Nike trainers.

Detective Sergeant Neil Martin said: “We are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or who recognises the descriptions of the offenders.
