Ramsgate RNLI launched this morning (August 24) to a report of a fishing boat adrift.

The Coastguard requested the luanch at 6.08am to the vessel 15 miles off Ramsgate.

Once on scene the crew found nothing in the position given but after an update from UK Coastguard located the casualty vessel.

One person was found to be onboard and was taken aboard the lifeboat once the tow line was made fast.

The RNLI then towed the casualty vessel into Ramsgate harbour. The boat had suffered total electrical failure and so was unable to start engine.
