Britain’s Got Talent auditions to be held at Westwood Cross

The BGT judges at last year's final

Britain’s Got Talent auditions will be held at Westwood Cross  on Monday, August 27.

Anyone with a talent is invited to take part with successful acts being in with a chance of securing a place at one of the judges’ auditions in 2019.

The show is open to any performer of any age, with any talent – all that’s needed is a skill and star quality which will impress the team. Anything goes from magicians to comedians, drag acts to singers and acrobats to animal stars.

Executive producer Charlie Irwin said: “Britain’s Got Talent 2018 was a fantastic year for talent full of variety with, for the first time ever, a comedian winning the show.

“We were left in stitches by runner-up Robert White, we were wiggle winding in the final with Reggae star Donchez Dacres, the incredible acrobats The Giang Brothers left us speechless and the laughs were endless with the hilarious winner the Lost Voice Guy (pictured below).

“Now, we can’t wait to see what talent you’re ready to bring to the BGT stage in 2019.  Anyone can apply – there is no age limit and we are looking for all kinds of talents. So, if you feel you have something special to show us, no matter what it is, then make sure you apply, you never know where it might take you!”

The auditions will run on the day from noon until 6pm. Under 18s need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian to take part.

No booking is required, simply head towards Guest Services, up the stairs between Subway and The Body Shop, to audition in front of show producers.  The auditions will be filmed but will not be broadcast.

Francesca Donovan, Centre Manager at Westwood Cross Shopping Centre, said: “We can’t wait to welcome the Britain’s Got Talent team to Thanet. We have hosted a variety of talented acts in the centre over the years, and are keeping our fingers’ crossed that some of our very own local talent will make it through to the show.”

The auditions coincide with Westwood Cross’ own search for a search for a talented busker.  Battle of the Buskers takes place in the shopping centre most weekends throughout August with the chance for people who vote to win £150 Westwood Cross Gift Card as well as a £500 gift card for the busker.
