Margate Soul Festival is just days away and has a fantastic line up of musicians and events.
This year the festival will also be attempting to pick up the first Guinness World Record for the largest wedding photo ever taken.
Hannah-Jane Denham and Darcy Harrison met across a crowded dance at the festival in 2016 and are tying the knot at this year’s event.
They are asking festival-goers to meet on the steps of Margate’s seafront at 4pm on the big day -Saturday, August 4 – for that all-important picture.

Getting home
Stagecoach will be providing a special ‘Loop’ service through the night for this year’s Margate Soul Festival.
The bus company will provide extra buses each night on the Loop route linking Margate with Broadstairs and Ramsgate. A special half hourly service will run beyond the normal close of service on Friday, Saturday and Sunday night.
The extra buses will operate in addition to the usual Loop timetable, departing Cecil Street at 01:20, 01:50, 02:20 and 02:50 in the morning.
Festival goers can also make use of route 8 buses to and from Westgate, Birchington and Canterbury during the day and evening.
The extra buses will operate on a donation only basis with all money going to Pilgrims Hospice. Local Stagecoach assistant operations manager Kim Brooks said “We’re running these extra buses to help get festival goers about over the weekend, but rather than charge a fare we thought we would take the opportunity to raise some cash for Pilgrims.”
