Margate man believed to be Canterbury shooting victim

The victim of a shooting in Canterbury last night (July 19) is believed to be a Margate man.

An investigation has been launched by the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate following the attack, said to have been carried out by two assailants in a vehicle.

The victim, in his 20s, has been named locally as Danny Mobey. The former Hartsdown student is believed to have been struck in Godwin Road and was found at around 10.40pm in Oxford Road, Wincheap.

He was taken to hospital with a bullet wound. No arrests have been made at this time.

A Kent Police spokesman said: “Officers remain in the area carrying out enquiries to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and to determine the weapon involved.”
