Kent County Council Cabinet reshuffle

Catherine Rankin new portfolio holder for Strategic Commissioning.

The Leader of Kent County Council, Paul Carter, has announced changes to his Cabinet, including new appointments in portfolios for Finance, Strategic Commissioning and Public Health.

The reshuffle comes after John Simmonds resigned from his post as Cabinet Member for Finance due to ill health.

Deputy Leader of KCC, Peter Oakford, becomes Cabinet Member for Finance and Traded Services, while Catherine Rankin joins the Cabinet as portfolio holder for Strategic Commissioning.

Graham Gibbens continues as Cabinet Member for Adult Social Care and also takes on responsibility for Public Health.

As Leader of the County Council, Paul Carter will retain responsibility for Health Reform.

The remainder of the Cabinet is unchanged;

Deputy Cabinet Member appointments are expected to be announced early next week.
