Officers investigating a burglary in Broadstairs are appealing for information to help them recover stolen war medals.
The burglary was reported to have taken place at a home in Salisbury Avenue on May 13.
Reported stolen was a quantity of cash, a vacuum cleaner, three navy blue boxes containing small painted lead soldiers and a collection of war medals.
The stolen medals include:
The 1939-45 Star – a star-shaped medal on a navy blue, red and light blue striped ribbon; the Africa Star which is also star shaped on a yellow, red, navy blue and light blue striped ribbon and the War Medal, a round silver medal on red, blue and white ribbon.
Detective Sergeant Heidi Collins said: “The medals, given for service during the Second World War, are of great sentimental value as sadly the recipient has passed away, but thanks to assistance from colleagues in the Ministry of Defence, we are now able to confirm what medals were stolen during the incident.
“We ask that people stay vigilant and call in if they are offered the medals to buy, or if they have any information about the burglary itself.”
