Two arrests made after report of children approached and man’s ‘suspicious behaviour’ in Margate

Two arrests have been made after a report a man was approaching people, including children, in Margate last night (June 10).

Kent Police received a report that a man had been seen behaving suspiciously in Belgrave Road, at 6.56pm. He reportedly spoke to a number of people, including some children, before getting in a vehicle and driving away. No physical contact was reported.

Officers then attended a report of a disturbance at Grosvenor Place at around 9.20pm and arrested a 56 year old man from Margate on suspicion of drink-driving, assault and affray and he currently remains in custody.

A 29 year old man was also arrested for assault and he too remains in custody.

Police have confirmed that the two incidents are linked.
