Hidden histories and images to be revealed at Falstaff talk and exhibition

The Falstaff Hotel in Addington Street, Ramsgate, is to host a top photographic exhibition from June 4 to July 2.

It is being staged by Verve, a newly formed group of photographers and artists living and working near to the coast of East Kent.

Members contribute a wide variety of skills and experience to the group while retaining a mixture of individual styles.

A highlight of the exhibition will be on June 6 at 8pm when one of the members, David Silk, will give an illustrated talk entitled Found Photography.

David will be showing some of the recently discovered photographs taken by the Victorian chemist and amateur photographer George M Arrowsmith who lived and worked in Broadstairs.  He also has a collection of Victorian and Edwardian images and has researched some of the subjects, revealing hidden histories.
