Margate Football Club has announced new joint managers for the 2018/19 season.
Steve Brown and Mike Sandmann will take joint charge over first team affairs following the departure of Steve Watt. Under 23s assistant Timmy Warden will be joining the set up as fitness coach.
Both are working to build on the foundations at the club and attract new faces to join Hartsdown Park for the upcoming campaign.
Brown believes taking the team forward as joint-managers will ensure hard work undertaken last season to stabilise the set up at The Gate can continue.
He said: “The club asked us to continue the project we started and after discussions between ourselves, it was clear that teaming up as joint Managers would be the best outcome to take the club forward.
“Things are starting to shape up nicely in terms of signings and we are hoping to consolidate with a good squad blended with experienced and youth players.”
Speaking ahead of Thursday’s Question and Answer Session, where he will be present to supporters, Sandmann added: “The Margate fans have been fantastic to us both since we arrived, and we know they will continue to show their support and welcome the new players that come to the club.
“We hope supporters see even more positive news over the next few weeks. Steve and I are both on the phone a lot discussing possibilities with a number of people.”
“We are confident we can draw together a good group, work hard and look forward to the pre-season schedule.”
The club also signed Dartford midfielder Alex Brown at the weekend.
