Members of Thanet Roadrunners and clubs across the country have taken part in the Harbour Wallbanger run this morning (May 19).

The 7k route ran from The Pavilion at Viking Bay  to the harbour wall at Ramsgate and back again.

The BARR  event, organised by the Roadrunners, is run under UK Athletics rules with a  minimum age 15.

There are trophies for the individual race winners, and also team prizes. Every finisher also received a race memento.

At least £1 from each entry is donated to the Thanet Lifeguard Club, which encourages water safety awareness and Lifesaving skills to the people of Thanet and the community within.

The club is part of Surf Life Saving GB, with more than 6,000 volunteers helping to make the beaches a safer and more enjoyable place for everyone.
