Appeal launched to help mum of cyclist seriously injured in St Peter’s crash

Sam Stokes is in Kings College Hospital

An appeal has been launched to help the mum of a young man seriously injured in a road incident in St Peter’s yesterday evening (May 8).

Emergency services were called to Church Street at 7.52pm to a crash between a cyclist and a coach.

The cyclist, dad-of-two Sam Stokes, was taken to Kings College Hospital in London suffering a bleed on his brain, cracked skull and a punctured lung.

His friend Lulu Rose has launched the appeal to help Sam’s mum Tracey with travel and other costs so she can stay with her son.

The former Thanet Waste worker, 22, had been riding home when the incident happened. He has only recently moved to St Peter’s from Margate.

Lulu, from Ramsgate, said: “Sam’s mum doesn’t drive and I just want to try and help her out for her travelling costs and maybe something to help her along the way with expenses while she is in London with Sam.

“Any kind of donation or help is appreciated.”

“Officers and the South East Coast Ambulance attended the scene and the cyclist, a man in his 20s, was taken by land ambulance to a London hospital with serious injuries.”
