MoD confirm hand grenade destroyed in St Nicholas-at-Wade controlled explosion

The Ministry of Defence has confirmed a World War Two grenade was destroyed in a controlled explosion in St Nicholas-at-Wade yesterday (March 30).

Kent Police was called at 7.18am to the garden of a property in The Street. The Army bomb disposal team were called to assist at 8.31am.
The road was closed while the team carried out a controlled detonation at approximately 10.45am.

An MOD spokesperson said: “We can confirm an Army team supported the police with the disposal of a World War Two grenade.”
