Ramsgate RNLI rescues woman and children cut off by tide

Ramsgate RNLI

A woman and two children had to be rescued by Ramsgate RNLI this morning (April 1) after getting cut off by the tide at Dumpton Gap.

The call was made at 11.40am. Speed was important as high tide was due 1.10pm. The family had been walking on the beach when they got trapped by the tide.

Ramsgate inflatable lifeboat attended. The woman and children had to wade into the water for pick up. They were assisted into the lifeboat and taken safely and unharmed to Ramsgate Boat House where they were given blankets and their clothing was put in the tumble dryer.

Once their clothing was dried they were dropped off at the RNLI charity shop as requested before making their way by train back to London.
