Dreamland gates are now back open following today’s power cut

Dreamland

Power has now been restored to Dreamland, Margate seafront, Old Town and the Canterbury Road area after an outage this afternoon (April 1).

The power went at around 1pm due to a fault on an underground electricity on the high voltage network.

Some visitors to the park were stuck on the Big Wheel. A park spokesman said two gondolas, with four riders, were affected. Evacuating the ride took 25 minutes.

The power was restored by 1.40pm.

Normal ‘evacuation’ procedure for power cuts was carried out at the park and once power was restored staff checked rides before reopening.

Businesses and homes in the  CT5 2; CT9 1 and CT9 5 were affected.
