Ramsgate High Street cordoned off by police

Part of Ramsgate High Street has been cordoned off by police this morning (March 17) following a serious assault.

Officers are appealing for witnesses after a man was attacked in the early hours of this morning.

It is reported a disturbance occurred in Ramsgate High Street at about 3am, during which a man in his 20s was assaulted and suffered serious injuries.  He is currently in hospital.

No arrests have been made and Ramsgate High Street is currently closed while officers conduct enquiries.  Officers are keen to speak to anyone who may have been in the area at the time or witnessed the disturbance.

The area of the town closed off runs from Iceland to Queen Street, junction with York Street and High Street running  up to New Look.

  1. Well at least these areas are covered by CCTV so should be cleared up quickly. Too many late night drunks and assaults round there.

    • Cleared up by the CCTV system which does not work properly and no longer appears to be manned or operated ???
