Morrisons’ £7,000 gift for Foreland Fields pupils forest school trips

Forelands Fields student will now enjoy forest school trips

The Morrisons Foundation has donated more than £7,000 to the Friends of Foreland School, a charity which supports Foreland Fields School.

The school in Ramsgate is for young people who have additional learning needs. The donation will be used to take students on a weekly trip to a forest school where they can explore nature and the outdoors in a safe, secure and hands-on woodland environment.

The cheque was presented on behalf of the foundation by Lorraine Holden, from the Morrisons store in Margate.

She said: “We were delighted to present this cheque to a charity which supports young people in our local community.”

Nanette Amas, from Friends of Foreland School, said: “This is an exciting opportunity for our pupils to experience outdoor learning in a stimulating and safe environment. The programme also develops children’s confidence, social skills, language and communication.

“This is such a fantastic opportunity for our children to explore the outdoors and develop their risk taking skills .”

The foundation was set up by Morrisons supermarkets in 2015 and awards grants for charity projects which help to improve people’s lives.
