Emergency services called to series of Thanet Way crashes

Road closures

Kent Police have attended a series of incidents on the Thanet Way this morning (March 2).

Officers were called at 8.47am  to the coastbound carriageway of the A299 Thanet Way to reports of an overturned car just past the Whitstable exit.

Further single-vehicle collisions have been reported on the same stretch of road. The South East Coast Ambulance Service and Kent Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene. Three people reported injuries and were treated by paramedics.

Officers were also called to the Londonbound carriageway near the Minster roundabout on the A299 at 8.36am , following reports of three collisions on the stretch of road. No injuries reported. The Londonbound road was closed between Minster and Monkton while vehicles were recovered and the road surface treated.

There was a three-vehicle collision in Hengist Way, Ramsgate at 8.50am. No injuries have been reported, officers are at the scene. The road is currently closed from Cliffs End roundabout Londonbound  to Monkton,

The Sandwich Bypass is also shut  Dover-bound.

There was also a report of a collision involving a car on the Londonbound carriageway near to Herne Bay at 8.20am. No injuries are reported and the vehicle is being recovered.
