Appeal for cyclist to come forward in Ramsgate police officer assault investigation

A cyclist who could have vital information about the assault of a police officer in St Laurence Church graveyard this month  is being sought by investigating officers.

The officer was reported to have been knocked unconscious by a group of people at the site in St Lawrence approximately 9.45pm on Friday 2 February.

He was taken to a local hospital for treatment and continues to recover at home.

No arrests have been made but following extensive enquiries officers are now keen to speak to a cyclist who is known to have been travelling past the graveyard at the time.

Officers believe the cyclist may have crucial information which could assist the investigation and are urging them to get in contact.
