Manslaughter arrest following the death of Kevin Sampson in Margate

Detectives from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate investigating the death of Kevin Sampson in Margate have made a second arrest.

On Thursday, February 1 at around 10pm officers were called to Victoria Road, where a man was found lying on the pavement.

Paramedics from the South East Coast Ambulance Service pronounced him dead at the scene.

Mr Sampson, 44 from Minster was identified and enquiries are ongoing into the circumstances of his death.

A 50-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter and theft on Thursday 8 February.

The 46-year-old man from Margate who was arrested on Tuesday 6 February is also now being investigated on suspicion of manslaughter and theft.

Both men have been released pending further enquiries.

Detectives would like to know where Mr Sampson was between midday and 9.45pm on the day he died.

They are urging witnesses, or anyone who knew him and has information on his movements that day, to come forward.
