
Thanet council has confirmed there is an active investigation into an incident of flytipping in Ramsgate yesterday (February 5).
A report was made of a man and woman dumping 3 sofas and other rubbish in Ashley Close on Sunday evening.
The incident was caught on camera and a report made to TDC.
A Thanet council spokesman said: “There was a flytip which was cleared immediately. There is now an active criminal investigation.”
From April 2016 to March 2017 there were nearly 1700 fly-tipping incidents in Thanet, costing the council a total of £109,550 to clean up more than 1500 tonnes of the resulting waste.
