Ramsgate Rotary Club had its largest attendance for some time when former Kent and England cricketer, Geraint Jones was the speaker.
Now coaching at St Lawrence College, he spoke of his satisfaction in helping young people to find their way into the sports of their choice-not just cricket
Born to Welsh parents in Papau New Guinea. He later moved to Australia and some
years later to England where he played cricket for small teams before joining Kent and then England, the highlight of which was in the 2005 Ashes series against Australia where he took a long-remembered catch which led to a key victory.
His talk was followed by an incredible number of questions from members and visitors from a couple of neighbouring clubs.
He was introduced by President Graham Larcombe and thanked by John Searles.
