Vandal who keyed multiple cars in two Ramsgate roads appears in court

A vandal who keyed a string of vehicles in Ramsgate has appeared in court.

Aaron John Smith was sentenced on 7 September  at Thanet Magistrates’ Court.

He pleaded guilty to seven counts of criminal damage.

On June 3 the 34-year-old, of Wellington Crescent, Ramsgate, vandalised seven cars in Denmark Road and St Luke’s Avenue.

CCTV footage circulated social media showing the cars being keyed by Smith.

Magistrates sentenced Smith to 90 days in prison, suspended for two years, ordered him to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work in the next 12 months and gave him a three-month curfew to remain at home between 8pm and 7am daily.

The curfew runs until 6 December 2017.

He must also pay £3,630 compensation.
