Road closures in Cliftonville due to crash involving motorbike and a pedestrian

Police have closed off roads in Cliftonville following a crash today (August 19).

The incident, involving a motorbike and a pedestrian, in Northdown Road means diversions are in place. Stagecoach buses are instead going to Devonshire Gardens and Princess Margaret Avenue.

Kent Police say serious injuries have been reported

A spokesman said: “Kent Police was called at 2.32pm on Saturday 19 August to a report of a collision between a motorbike and a pedestrian in Northdown Road, Cliftonville. Officers are at the scene along with South East Coast Ambulance service and serious injuries have been reported.”

There are road closures in place from Northumberland Avenue between the junctions of Rutland Avenue and Northdown Park Road and also from Northdown Road with the junctions of Prince’s Gardens and Leicester Avenue.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
