Primark is due to fully reopen both floors at Westwood Cross

Both floors will be open from next week

The ground floor of Primark at Westwood Cross will reopen  next week.

The floor was closed in May because of subsidence fears.

Goods were moved to the first floor and the shop continued to trade. The subsidence was being caused by a sinkhole in the car park by the building that was the result of former Army practice tunnels at the site which were sealed in 2014.

Remedial work was carried out at the site and is now complete. Both floors will be open to shoppers from Monday (July 31).

A Westwood Cross statement says: “We are delighted to let you know that Primark will be fully re-opening at Westwood Cross following the partial closure of the ground floor while essential building works took place.

“Both floors will be open again to customers from Monday (31st July). We, and Primark, would like to thank all our customers and staff for their patience while these works were carried out.”
