The latest round-up from the courts includes a shoplifter sent to a young offenders institution and a man put on a curfew after attacking two people.
Neil Joseph Jones was sentenced on 10 July at Medway Magistrates’ Court.
He pleaded guilty to theft.
On 2 July the 39-year-old, of Viaduct Close, Ramsgate, stole a credit card from a woman in Ramsgate.
Magistrates sentenced Jones to 35 days in prison. He must also pay a £115 victim surcharge.
Karl Brock was sentenced on 11 July at Thanet Magistrates’ Court.
He pleaded guilty to criminal damage.
On 4 February the 24-year-old, of Linksfield Road, Westgate on Sea, caused damage worth £2,900 to toilet cubicles at a bowling alley in Ethelbert Crescent, Margate.
Magistrates sentenced Brock to 120 days in prison, suspended for 18 months, and ordered him to carry out 150 hours of unpaid work in the next 12 months. He must also pay £2,900 compensation and £85 costs.
Samuel Christopher Andrew Timberlake was sentenced on 11 July at Thanet Magistrates’ Court.
He pleaded guilty to two counts of common assault.
On 22 April the 22-year-old, of Fairfield Road, Ramsgate, assaulted two men at a casino in Margate Road, Broadstairs.
Magistrates sentenced Timberlake to 120 days in prison, suspended for 18 months, and gave him a six month curfew to remain at home between 10pm and 6am daily. The curfew runs until 10 January 2018. He must also pay £400 compensation, £85 costs and a £115 victim surcharge.
Zak Williams was sentenced on 12 July at Thanet Magistrates’ Court.
He pleaded guilty to two counts of shoplifting.
On 9 May the 20-year-old, of Hobart Road, Ramsgate, stole headphones worth £75 from Tesco in Manston Road, Ramsgate.
On 10 May he stole headphones worth £75 from the same supermarket.
Magistrates sentenced Williams to 112 days in a Young Offenders’ Institute. He must also pay £50 compensation.
