Fire crews at the scene of the blaze

Fire crews have been called out to a car in flames at Dane Valley.

The vehicle was burning at the track off Dane Valley Road at around 6pm tonight (June 27).

It is the latest in a series of fires at the ward, including a burned out caravan in Jennifer Gardens and fires set at Dane Valley Woods.

A Kent Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “We were called at 17:57 to Dane Valley Road, St Peters in Broadstairs.

“On arrival crews found a car well alight, using a hose reel jet and wearing breathing apparatus crews extinguished the fire.

“A black Renault Clio was 100% destroyed by fire. It is believed to have been started deliberately.”
