A house fire in Cliftonville is being treated as arson

A house fire in Cliftonville on Sunday evening is being treated as arson.

Around 13 firefighters and three fire engines tackled the blaze in Ethelbert Road after an emergency 999 call was received just before 6.30pm.

Crews arrived on the scene within minutes, to find the fire in a ground floor front room.

All occupants of the three floor building were accounted for.

Kent Police  attended the scene alongside the Kent Fire and Rescue Service and the South East Coast Ambulance Service.

A spokesman said: “The fire is currently being treated as arson and enquiries into the incident are ongoing.”

No arrests have been made.
