Some 2,000 bikes were on show for the Margate Meltdown

Thousands of visitors are expected for the Margate Meltdown Photo Andrew Holloway

More than 2,000 bikes lined Margate seafront for the tenth Ace Cafe Margate Meltdown today (May 29).

And thousands of people visited the town to see the bikes and enjoy the entertainment, including band The Accidents.

The annual run sees  motorbikes and scooters in a ride from the cafe in London to Margate. The event included trade and custom stalls on the piazza and drew crowds to the Old Town, seafront  and harbour arm.

The ‘Mods and Rockers’ run raises cash for the Royal British Legion.
