Today is the last chance to register for your vote in the General Election.
You must be registered by midnight tonight to be able to cast your choice at the ballot box on June 8.
The deadline for receipt of postal vote applications is 5pm Tuesday 23 May and the deadline for receipt of proxy vote applications is 5pm Wednesday 31 May.

You will need to give National Insurance Number, address and date of birth.
You need your passport if you are living abroad.
How does postal voting work?
You can apply for a postal vote if you are away on the date of the election. A postal vote can be sent to your home address or any other address that you provide, including overseas, but you must return your ballot paper so it arrives back by 10pm on polling day.
You can apply for a proxy vote, which means someone else will be allowed to cast your vote at the ballot for you. The person you appoint as your proxy must be over 18 and registered to vote.
Why bother?
At the 2015 General Election 30% of people did not use their vote. More people didn’t vote than voted for any one party.
The voice of young people was distinctly mute, 70% of 18-24 year-olds registered to vote but only 44% of them actually voted. This is in comparison to 76% of 65+ year olds.
There are places in the world where people don’t get the opportunity to vote. You have the chance to influence how the country is run and all it takes is a few minutes to register and a quick trip to the polling station on June 8.
When can I vote?
Polling stations are open on election day, June 8, from 7am to 10pm. An exit poll at 10pm gives an indication of the result. The counting begins after polls close and takes place through the night, with the first seat usually declared before midnight. If it is a strong victory for one party, the final result can be predictable by about 3am.
