Two men arrested in connection with robbery outside Ramsgate infant school

Officers investigating a report of a robbery outside Priory Infant School off Cannon Road, Ramsgate, on Monday (15 May) have made two arrests.

The robbery is reported to have taken place at noon when two men – one holding a knife – approached a woman by her car and demanded she hand over her handbag. They took the bag but then dropped it after being yelled at by the victim and bystanders and fled empty-handed.

Shortly after, police received a report of a theft of a Peugeot delivery van from Margate Road, Ramsgate.

The vehicle was later discovered in Princess Margaret Avenue, Ramsgate, and two men, a 52-year-old and a 37-year-old, were arrested on suspicion of vehicle theft and robbery. They are currently in police custody.
