Upton Junior School in Broadstairs school ‘nose’ best when it comes to celebrating the Comic Relief charity event ‘Red Nose Day.’
The school’s Pupil Council set a challenge for classes across the school to design their own fun red noses.
A huge number of interesting, wacky and weird suggestions were created – some as drawings, some as 3D designs. The winning eight entries were announced at a special Comic Relief assembly in front of the whole school.
Winners included noses shaped like a giant red pufferfish, a unicorn, an extending Pinocchio nose, a rosy red apple, and a red nose Minion
Each of the winners received a Red Nose Day goodie bag with Comic Relief themed gifts. Staff from the school also wrote and performed a Comic Relief themed skit that combined comedy with a more serious theme related to how the money raised can benefit those who need it most. The charity benefitted from the non-uniform day fundraiser to the tune of £425.
Upton Junior School is part of the Viking Academy Trust with Chilton Primary School and Ramsgate Free School.
