Emergency services were called to a medical incident in Birchington yesterday (March 28) where a man sadly died.
Police, ambulance, air ambulance and fire crew were called at 5.20pm to the area near the beach at Beresford Gap.
Sadly, the man in his 50s, who is believed to have suffered a heart attack, passed away.
Family of the man, fisherman and bait digger Michael Marshall, will be laying flowers at Ramsgate harbour today and say anyone who knew him or anyone wishing to pay their respects are more than welcome to attend.
The dad-of-five was also known as Micky Finn and Mick the Hook.
A Kent Police spokesperson said: ” Kent Police was called to a report of a medical incident near to Beresford Gap in Birchington at 5.20pm on Friday 28 March.
“Officers attended along with South East Coast Ambulance Service and a man in his 50s was pronounced deceased. The man’s next of kin has been informed.
“The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report is being prepared for the coroner.”
