Crews from an international movie based on the Polish 303 RAF Squadron in the Battle of Britain will be filming in Broadstairs next week – and they have put out a casting call.

The film – Hurricane – will feature Mad Max actor Mel Gibson’s  son Milo as Lt. Johnny Kent, a Canadian flight lieutenant who led the 303 squadron of Hawker Hurricane fighter planes flown by Polish pilots at the height of the Battle of Britain.

Producers are said to be in negotiations with Game of Thrones actor Iwan Rheon and ITV’s Prime Suspect 1973 star Stefanie Martini  for roles in the movie.

It will be produced by Stray Dogs Films and Matt Whyte with David Blair directing.

One of the crew working on the film posted to social media: “We will be filming in Broadstairs on October 23 and we are searching for volunteers to be extras in it.

“We are looking for both adult men and women of all ages – the main criterium to be picked are the costume requirements. Because it is a period film women unfortunately can’t have dyed hair and all featured gentleman should be clean shaven.

“I am saddened to inform that we cannot offer roles to children.

“If you would be interested in seeing how the film is made from the other side of the lens and join us on this adventure please email me at casting@prospect3.com.

Your application should include your: chest sizes, waist, hips, inner leg, height and age along with one photograph. “
