The voting is closed and the results will soon be announced for the winner of the first Dane Valley Citizen Award.
Launched by ward councillors the aim is to make the awards an annual event. The competition is to find the most outstanding citizen living or working in the ward.
The winner will receive a trophy and a gift from sponsor Tesco’s of Northdown Road.
This year’s nominees were:
Steve Darling – Dane Valley Woods organiser, who has worked tirelessly creating his group and acring for the woodlands.
Maurice Morris – Resident who has always been very helpful to Thanet people over many years .
Janet Snook – local Neighbourhood Watch volunteer who makes a difference in her local Dane Valley street reporting crime and helping neighbours.
