Discover the brewing process behind Gadds beers during monthly tours by the Broadstairs business.
The brewery began life in the back of a Ramsgate boozer in 2002. Four years later boss Eddie Gadd and his team bought a larger premises and set-up again on the Pysons Road Industrial Estate, brewing fresh, tasty, local ale.
Gadds now provides beer to a host of venues including the Montifiore Arms, also owned by Eddie, Ravensgate Arms, The Empire Room and Waitrose to name just a few.

The sun was shining and it was a great day to see this local brewery. The tour started at 11am with Eddie Gadd collecting us from outside the building.
Eddie is a happy guy, and why not he works every day in a brewery. After a morning pint of award winning Gadds beer the tour progressed to the brewing room. Eddie explained the brewing process, showing us the bags of malted barley and wheat which are used in the brewing of the beers. He explained that each type of malted product added a different character to the beer.
The tour continued with a visit to the boiling tanks and an explanation of the history of beer production. It was a fascinating visit and really showed the passion for fresh top quality beer that is the hallmark of Gadds Brewery.
If you get a chance, book a tour and don’t miss the finest beer of the year which will be in pubs in the next few weeks -the only time of the year that green hops are used fresh from the harvest.
These hops are collected at 7am by the team at Gadds Brewery and the green hop beer made and delivered that day. Beers can be bought from the brewery in single pints, 4 and 8 pint jugs and in cases of 12 bottles.
