Kent Police launch pilot online crime reporting service

A pilot scheme for the public to report crimes online has been launched by Kent Police.

Members of the public can now report non-urgent crimes and incidents and road traffic collisions via the website. The form takes about 10 minutes to complete and then you receive a crime number.

This function is still in test phase. At the end of each form the person making a report is asked to give feedback on the service.

The  aim is to provide another choice for how the public can report crime or incidents as well as try to reduce the number of people calling 101 on non-urgent issues.

Make sure you have (if available):

  • the date and time of the crime/incident
  • details of any stolen or damaged items (ie IMEI number for your mobile, vehicle registration)
  • the contact details of any witnesses
  • information about any evidence that could help an investigation

It isn’t possible to upload attachments at the moment, this will be introduced later. There are separate sections within the form to add the different information required.
