Broadstairs pupil Kelsie wows Westwood Cross crowds to scoop Christmas light switch-on honour

Kelsie celebrates the win with family

A 10-year-old Broadstairs pupil will perform at the  Westwood Cross Christmas Light switch on after wowing crowds at the centre’s Summer Party event.

Kelsie Bissett, who attends Upton Junior School, performed an energetic routine to Dollhouse by Melanie Martinez, competing amongst 10 other children in the talent competition to be crowned overall winner.

Kelsie won a £100 Westwood Cross gift card and  the opportunity to perform at the centre’s light switch on alongside a host of famous faces – yet to be announced.

Kelsie said: “I love dancing and take inspiration from my brother who is currently performing on the West End in School of Rock.

“I am now working hard to perfect my routine before I perform again at the Christmas light switch on!”

Also performing at the event was X Factor finalist Freddy Parker.

Francesca Donovan, centre manager at Westwood Cross, said: “Our Summer Party saw hundreds of visitors enjoy an incredible programme of entertainment. All the little stars who entered into the competition were unbelievably talented, and Kelsie stole the show with her enthusiastic routine.”

Details of Westwood Cross’ Christmas light switch on event will be announced in due course, along with details of this year’s star performers.
