The opening date has been announced for American seafood and chicken restaurant, Captain D’s, at Westwood Cross.
The venue will open its doors on Monday 20th October – marking the brand’s first UK location and step in its global expansion.
Captain D’s famous menu includes its signature crispy fish sandwiches, fire-grilled fish, chicken, and sides served with a slice of classic Southern hospitality.
Founded in 1969 in Donelson, Tennessee, Captain D’s has grown to more than 530 restaurants across 23 US states.
Captain D’s at Westwood Cross is to be inducted in the centre’s newly developed leisure hub at the former Debenhams site.
The restaurant will be housed in the final unit in this area, which also includes Hollywood Bowl, AirHop Trampoline Park, Riparo Lounge, and Taco Bell.

We’re excited for our guests to enjoy its signature seafood and chicken dishes and experience its Southern-inspired hospitality for themselves, and we look forward to sharing more details soon.”
UK Chairman of Captain D’s, Daryl Stutchbury, added: “Captain D’s isn’t just another fast-food outlet – it’s a premium experience rooted in quality, community, and innovation.
“We’re proud to be setting the stage here in Kent and can’t wait to welcome our first guests.”

Other new openings scheduled for the centre are Rituals in November and jewellery store Pandora, date not yet released.
The food looks like you would find in Iceland fridge freezers, I can’t see what’s all the fuss about.
Having had these twice in the us…you’d be better off going Taco Bell and that’s saying a LOT.

Like the fatty food, Westwood appears to be very oversaturated with them.
Great more lard licks for the new Westwood City to trough from .The sheer quality of the area is just ( not ) improving daily.

Served in British Army and went to many countries and enjoyed their cuisines .Just don’t like French cooking ,vastly overrated food and liked by food snobs
I wonder if there “Fish” is from China and Vietnam like it is in the States? They are not very well rated over there, I wouldn’t feed this crap to my cat.
